MOROCCO

Hello! I am Hind.  This is a popular name in Morocco (just if you think it is a weird name;)  I live in Tanger.  This is a city in Morocco next to the sea.  I will tell you a little of my home..

I love to vist with my sister the Souk, this is a huge market with narrow streets where you can buy colorful carpets, bags and dresses. If you are lucky they invite you to a cup of tea.  Do you know how toprepare our mint tea? It is yummiii;-) I will explain it to you here...  (Don't do it alone, boiling water is very hot and dangerous.  Do it with your mum or dad)

(1. BOIL 2 CUPS OF HOT WATER
2. ADD 15-20 FRESH MINT LEAVES
3. TURN OFF THE HEAT AND LET STAND 15-20 MINUTES.  IF YOU WANT IT SOFTER OR STRONGER YOU CAN VARY THIS TIME.
4. STRAIN THE LEAVES AND SERVE HOT WITH A DRIZZLE OF HONEY).

Sometimes you can find somebody playing the lute.  This is an instrument which looks like a guitarre, but is much rounder.  It sounds a bit strange in my opinion ;)

The coolest in my country are the different deserts we have, these are huge areas with only sand, no houses, no water! The best way to move there is with a camel. And do you know why? A camel can be 10 days without drinking any water and also it can drink 200 liter of water in 3 minutes! I have adop- ted one when I got 4 years old- I called it Jeany.

In these deserts live a cat called Sand Cat, it is a beige cat with some black lines.
The color of its fur is same as the desert in order to help her to be well camouflaged.
I think this is very practical, I would like to camouflage sometimes as well;)

Oh and please I forgot the funniest: Did you see goats on trees? No? Here you can see it!  These goats climb on a tree which is called Argan tree. They eat the nuts from the tree, which are rea- lly tasty and contain rich oil seeds. Then afterwards the goats spit out( or poop!!) the seeds and moroccan farmer collect them and make delicious oil of them: The famous Argan oil :)

My sister has a book which is called “Magic Orient” and there you can read stories of my city, where people moved on flying carpets..Have you seen this? Do you think there are really flying carpets? Since then I am dreaming to fly on a carpet to school;)
In this book are also incredible palaces with painted walls, golden things, flowers, dancers, fruits and birds- it is so so beautiful that I would like to celebrate my next Birthday party there!!

Wanna come?
